Day 2 on the Black Pearl

Day 1 (morning)

Location Finger Point, North Male’ Atoll

1^st dive of the day, we had great visibility was of 30 meters medium currents following in side of the atoll, We drifted with the current to a slope of the reef towards the blue and were greeted with a school of eagle rays, As the reef hooks were adjusted we started to see white tip sharks in numbers. There were schools of Fusilier above us and the giant trevallies started to hunt which was madness as the white tips and snappers joined in for a bony fish bite.

After spending about 20 min at 30meters we started to shallow the dive and drifted towards the main reef where we saw more snappers and oriental sweetlips. The last three divers to ascend saw a whale shark swimming out towards the channel no one believed them on the surface of course but heheh we had pictures to prove that!!!!

Dive 2 (Noon)

Location: Makunudhoo Reef, North Male’ Atoll

2^nd dive for the day was also with great viz, but after battling the current on the first dive, everybody needed a fruit smoothie like dive for a break. Top reef was covered with hard coral and fish life was abundant. The reef sloped down to sandy bottom where a lot of gobies and garden eels could be seen.

Although nothing big like whale sharks or eagle rays, everyone enjoyed the dive, as it was all relaxing. Highlight of the dive was Pink Anemone, Hard Corals and Morays.

Dive 3 (Night)

Location: Dharavandhoo House Reef, Baa Atoll

After the second dive, Black Pearl started to cruise to Baa Atoll, we arrived at a beautiful sunset and went on for our 3^rd dive, which was a night dive to wrap up the day.

The reef was sloping at times and at some points there were drop offs. A small drift was on through out the dive. We spotted a lot of Lionfish, Nudibranchs, Shrimps, Coral Crabs, Morays, Feather Stars and not to mention the Parrot Fish all fast asleep.

Was an exciting day on board everybody on board is hyped up as day three is on Hannifaru bay we post our info at the same time tomorrow with pictures for out readers till then …..
